Bristol Explorers Drinks With Monty Halls – 15th April

Bristol Explorers Drinks With Monty Halls – 15th AprilBristol Explorers Drinks With Monty Halls – 15th April

Bristol Explorers Drinks will be on Thursday 15th April.  The usual mix of planning, chat and inspiration amongst adventurers and explorers throughout the evening. Plus Monty Halls will be telling us about six months spent in the Outer Hebrides……

Monty (and his faithful hound Reuben) have just returned from six months in the Outer Hebrides working as a voluntary nature ranger. His experiences were filmed as a six part BBC2 series which comes out in May this year. This follows on from the successful series “Monty Halls Great Escape” last year where Monty lived in a bothy on a headland by a beautiful bay on the west coast of Scotland.

During the course of his work as a nature ranger, Monty encountered sea eagles, dolphins, otters, stag, salmon, and grey seals, all the while exploring a wild archipelago he describes as “Britain’s true wilderness, our very own New Zealand”

Monty’s talk is a sneak preview of the second series, with images and footage from his six months in the islands. Where else in Europe could you live amongst a community of genuine crofters and fishermen, visit a tiny set of sand islands amidst 20,000 pupping grey seals, drive a RIB to Britain’s only dual World Heritage Site, and spend every day in a cottage that is closer to Iceland than it is to Bristol.

Come and hear tall tales of high seas and a wild land. Donations on the evening will be taken for the Marine Conservation Society.

Drinks will be held at the Square Club, Bristol and start from 6.30pm with Monty’s tall tales starting at 7pm.

NEWS UPDATE:  Just to let you know that its been confirmed that ‘Monty Halls’ Great Hebridean Escape’ goes out weekly starting Wednesday 21st April, 9pm on BBC2!!
