Justin Miles, Personal Trainer and member of The Last Great Challenge
Most people learn to walk and talk only once in their lives, but just to make sure he could do it properly, Justin did it twice.
On March 3 1999 Justin was involved in a car accident which left him with head injuries and unable to walk or talk properly. During his recovery plan and in between bouts of exercise, Justin could do very little but dream; he dreamt of pursuing his boyhood aspirations of becoming a full time adventurer. He used his down time to turn his dream in to a tangible objective.
In 2009 Justin began looking for ideas for a polar expedition. Organised trips and last degree races wouldn’t be enough to satisfy his hunger. When he came across John Wilton-Davies during an internet search a brief telephone conversation was swiftly followed by a meeting at a coffee shop in Exeter, by the end of which the pair had resolved to undertake an Antarctic expedition now known as the Last Great Challenge.
The Last Great Challenge expedition is about much more than two guys walking across a frozen continent; the expedition is involved with charity, education and health promotion projects.
