Future Justice Intern Vacancy: Deadline Friday

The World Future Council is looking for a full-time intern for their annual Future Policy Award, from the start of February until end of June. It is primarily a research position, analysing biodiversity policies from around the world. Based in Bristol.

The World Future Council brings the interests of future generations to the centre of policy making. Its 50 eminent members from around the globe have already successfully promoted change. The Council addresses challenges to our common future and provides decision-makers with effective policy solutions. In-depth research underpins advocacy work for international agreements, regional policy frameworks and national lawmaking and thus produces practical and tangible results.

The World Future Council Foundation is looking for a full-time Intern – Future Justice: Future Policy Award to be based in Bristol, England.

 

The WFC inaugurated a Future Policy Award for ‘best policies’ in 2009. Given the great success of this award, we are looking for a highly motivated, reliable and capable intern to support the next selection process, on the 2010 issue of biodiversity.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Research and compile background information on existing legislation and important institutions working on biodiversity

Learn to use the WFC policy criteria application guidelines for analyzing policies

Support the nomination and screening processes, also by engaging with experts in the field

Support the production of promotion material, public events and media outreach

Report to the WFC Research Manager

 

Profile:

Demonstrated interest in and understanding of sustainability and development policy

Good understanding of national and regional political systems

Excellent communication skills in English; Spanish and French an advantage

Good computer and organisational skills, good representation skills

Capability of working independently in a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment

Be reliable and capable of paying close attention to detail

Be committed to the WFC’s vision and mission of long-term sustainability and equity

 

The WFC Foundation offers interns coverage of expenses up to £360 per month. The successful candidate may either work from home, or from the 3rd Floor of Bush House, or the 2nd floor of the Create Centre.
